Well, this looks entirely awesome.

It’s Atomic Blonde, from one of the directors of John Wick (and the upcoming Deadpool 2), David Leitch. And it stars Charlize Theron as one helluva secret agent, with hand-to-hand and marksman skills for days. In the film, she is sent to uncover who killed one of her fellow agents (and a former lover). Charlize is on a mission. And she ain’t nothing to mess with.

Here’s the official synopsis:

The crown jewel of Her Majesty’s Secret Intelligence Service, Agent Lorraine Broughton (Theron) is equal parts spycraft, sensuality and savagery, willing to deploy any of her skills to stay alive on her impossible mission. Sent alone into Berlin to deliver a priceless dossier out of the destabilized city, she partners with embedded station chief David Percival (James McAvoy) to navigate her way through the deadliest game of spies.

The long takes, intricate action choreography, and coolly beautiful and brutal gunplay definitely bears the aesthetic stamp of Leitch; our own Britt Hayes saw Atomic Blonde at SXSW and said it’s “every bit as awesome as you’d hope.”

I’m sold. Done. Say no more. Atomic Blonde opens in theaters on July 28.
