Every year thousands of consumers are shocked to learn that their identity has been stolen or compromised. In many cases confidential numbers were stolen from discarded papers not shredded.
Properly destroying sensitive personal and financial documents is a key step in ID theft prevention. To assist in that area the San Angelo BBB will host a Secure Your ID - Shred Day on Saturday, October 21st at the Better Business Bureau office at 3149 Executive Drive from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.
Individuals are asked to bring old credit card or bank statements, IRS tax records, computer disks, or anything that lists personal information (Social Security #, bank account #, credit card #) to be commercially shredded—ABSOLUTELY FREE!!! This shredding event is open to all Concho Valley residents.
Limits on recycled material will be 6 file boxes per family.
