Two words you'd be wise to avoid saying to Pink, especially on the topic of breastfeeding: Cover up.

The "Just Like Fire" singer, who recently penned a song for Celine Dion's forthcoming album, reminded her Instagram followers yesterday (August 11) that mothers should never be ashamed of breastfeeding their children in public. In honor of World Breastfeeding Week, she shared a throwback photo of herself and daughter Willow Sage — now 5 — connecting.

"I proudly post this photo of a very HEALTHY, NATURAL act between mother and child," Pink wrote to nearly unanimous support from fans, who praised the shot for its natural beauty.

"I love you @pink and all that you stand up for," one follower wrote, while another noted "You are so right, breastfeeding is the best, just the way God intended it to be."

Still, Pink — among countless other women — hasn't always been greeted so warmly while breastfeeding in public. She told Allan Carr in 2012 that she'd gotten plenty of dirty looks and scoffs for feeding Willow across her daughter's infancy, even when obscured by a blanket or cover-up. So, she stopped caring, and aimed to prove the act's encompassing stigma is a bunch of crap.

"I do [it] on purpose,” she said. “I think breastfeeding is healthy and natural and it’s a comfort to my baby."

What do you think of Pink's strong breastfeeding statement? Sound off in the comments.
