I have a pit in my stomach wile writing this. Animals are so pure and good, especially dogs, so the fact that someone would have these innocent animals in such horrid conditions really makes me sick.

The ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention and Cruelty to Animals) said in a press release they had rescued 40 dogs from one home just outside San Angelo. While the exact location was not specified, they did say the dogs ranged in ages from puppies to adult.

“The ASPCA is pleased to be in a position where we have the expertise and resources to support pet owners in need and improve the lives of animals in communities across the country,” Kyle Held, director of investigations for the ASPCA, said in the release. “While some of these animals will require medical treatment and behavioral rehabilitation, we’re thankful for the Humane Society of North Texas and Tri-City Animal Shelter & Adoption Center for assisting us with this case and we’re thrilled to help prepare these dogs for the next chapter in their lives.”

SanAngeloLive says the owners willingly turned the dogs over when they discovered they could no longer take care of them.

Which makes sense considering there were FORTY OF THEM.
