UFO sightings in San Angelo are frequent. That isn't the only paranormal happening documented in the area. When most people think of Bigfoot or Sasquatch, they think of the Pacific Northwest or isolated areas of the northeast.

Even though the famous Bigfoot movie "The Bogey Creek Monster" was partially filmed in Texas. That movie claims that Bigfoot roams the swampland near Texarcana. Ok, most of the sightings in that film were on the Arkansas side of the border. Can we be sure Bigfoot cares about state borders?

Even The Travel Channel's list of the best states to spot Bigfoot put Texas at #7.

Now, I admit it.  It seems far-fetched to me that Bigfoot or Sasquatch could remain undetected here in the San Angelo area. There just aren't that many trees or caves.  Those are the two things most associated with the beast.

Yet, there have been some famous Bigfoot sightings in the San Angelo area. Many of the sightings happen at this time of the year.  That does make sense since Bigfoots are said to be very fond of deer meat.

One of San Angelo's most famous sightings from 2015 still gets a lot of press today, since it was published on the world-famous blog called Sasquatch Chronicles. You can read the full story here:

Sasquatch Chronicles Blog San Angelo Sighting

According to the post, the sighting was on Lake O.H. Ivie about 45 miles east of San Angelo.  I've noticed a weird vibe and some foul smells around that lake. I've also noticed a lot of mushrooms growing there.  For the sake of a good story, I'll leave that there.

It would seem that 2015 was a big year for Bigfoot sightings. Another story was posted in the Wood Ape Conservancy weblog and was sighted on Facebook by West Texas Paranormal Happenings and Events. Unfortunately, the details of that sighting are no longer present on the website.

Another famous Bigfoot sighting in San Angelo dates back to 2006. This report was made by a U.S. Army Vet who, according to the report, had a sighting along a "remote" area of the Concho River while fishing with his two sons.

The report is terrifying.  You can read all about it here:

There must be some deep Sasquatch connection in San Angelo because,

on the Ubuy website, we found this stylish Bigfoot bag for sale.

I'm really not sure who the model for this bag might have been.  It looks to me more like the Duluth Trading Company's Ballroom Underwear mascot.

Teepublic also has a San Angelo Bigfoot t-shirt, phone case, and sticker for sale.  I'm not 100% sure what this is trying to say about us, but nonetheless, it is for sale.

In any event, it might be a good idea to keep a lookout for Bigfoot. Traditionally, you smell him before you see him. Unfortunately, you can't always count on that as this is also true of many of my in-laws.

After a hard day of looking for the creature, you may find yourself with quite the appetite. Fortunately, there is a perfect spot to indulge your Bigfoot cravings and it is so appropriately named.

If you spot Bigfoot, please post the photo. There are so many shows on cable about Bigfoot and they always promise some exciting new photo evidence right before they cut to a commercial. Afterward, the exciting new "evidence" turns out to be a blurry photo of something that could easily be a bear's butt.  Don't post a bear's butt.  I don't want to be disappointed again.
