Cameron Boyce’s Autopsy Complete, Official Cause of Death Pending Investigation
Cameron Boyce's autopsy has been completed but his cause of death is pending further investigation.
As previously reported, the Disney Channel star died in his sleep on Saturday (July 7) after suffering from a seizure, which was triggered by his epilepsy. One of his roommates found him unresponsive and immediately called the paramedics, who were unable to revive him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
People reports an autopsy was performed on Monday (July 8), but no official cause of death has been revealed. “An autopsy was performed today and a cause of death was deferred pending further investigation,” the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner announced in a press release.
Following news of his passing, Boyce's family released a statement via ABC News, which mentioned the 20-year-old had an "ongoing medical condition," which was later revealed to be epilepsy. It's unclear if this is, in fact, what caused his death, but he did have a history with the neurological disorder.
The autopsy news also comes one day after Boyce's father, Victor, spoke about the loss of his son on Twitter.
“I’m overwhelmed with the love and support our family has received,” he wrote on Sunday (July 7). “It really does help to ease the pain of this nightmare I can’t wake up from. I can’t thank you guys enough.”
