This calls for a celebratory salsa — Dancing With the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba and actor Robb Derringer are engaged, the couple told People in a story published yesterday (December 14). And both insist the beachside proposal was totally perfect.

Inaba says Derringer proposed with a 3.68-carat oval ring that features an eight-karat rose gold band consisting of 120 round brilliant-cut diamonds (you can see all the glittery details over at People). The ring also features a series of rubies on the inner-band and is inscribed with "Robbie" and "Carrie."

"We shared our desire to commit to one another for life by beginning that journey in a very intimate and private way, just the two of us, alone on the beach with a bonfire, a bottle of Aubert Chardonnay and the majestic Pacific ocean that has always been an integral force in both our lives," Inaba said, before explaining just how important the proposal spot was to the couple.

"All alone on that beautiful beach, it was as if time stood still and we were the only two people on earth. I will never forget it. It was perfect,” she shared. “Getting engaged where we had that perfect first date, was really such poetic destiny."
