UK singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, who sings ‘The A Team,’ a song we still haven’t managed to get out of our pretty little heads, was in New York recently to promote his new album. Oh, and he was also in town to perform a sold-out show at Bowery Ballroom. No biggie.

The red headed Patrick Stump look-alike took time out of his schedule to perform a little acoustic set with ThisIsRnB.com, and you’re all probably all, “Uh whaaaat? He doesn’t sing R&B,” but you’d be sadly mistaken. Sheeran is actually a big fan of hip-hop (RIP Biggie Smalls!) and R&B, despite his acoustic-pop-rock sounding self, and performed an acoustic version of ‘Pony’ by Ginuwine. Because … that’s everyone’s go-to acoustic song.

Clad in the typical acoustic attire of a t-shirt and loose fitting pants, Sheeran’s sitting in a dark room strumming his guitar, and all we can think about is how awesome it’d be if he performed an acousticcover of Juvenile’s ‘Back That A– Up’ next.
