As a kid, some of my fondest family memories are of family dinners, especially during the holidays.  Let's face it.  Today, with kids going every which way and our lives busier than ever, the times we get to sit down as a family for a meal are fewer and farther between.

That's one of the many reasons we enjoy one of the first San Angelo events of the holiday season.

It’s HEB’s Feast of Sharing this Sunday, November 5th from 11am to 3pm at the Wells Fargo Pavilion.

HEB holds these FREE annual community meals in more than 20 cities all over Texas from Abilene to Weslaco from November 3rd to December 23rd.

Now, Feast of Sharing is the culmination of HEB’s year-round commitment to fighting hunger.  But it’s so much more.  It’s family.  I think of San Angelo and surrounding towns as one big family and it’s always heartwarming to spend time with family.  Especially over a good meal.

Just one Feast of Sharing event equals:

  • 3,000 pounds of sliced turkey
  • 2,500 pounds of cornbread dressing
  • 750 pumpkin pies
  • 380 gallons of mashed potatoes
  • 140 gallons of turkey gravy
  • 95 gallons of cranberry sauce

In addition to the meal, you can enjoy music, arts and crafts, and kids’ activities ‑ even an appearance by Santa himself.

We hope too see you this Sunday...
