Girl Scout Cookie Season 2026 Is Officially Here in West Texas

Girl Scout Cookie season has officially kicked off across all of West Texas, and I can tell you right now, this is one of my favorite times of the year. Sales began today and will continue through March 1, which means those familiar green vests, smiling faces, and irresistible cookie tables are officially back.

Every year, I make it a point to invite several of these young entrepreneurs into my studio to talk about how cookie sales work, how to order, and how cookies can be delivered right to your home or business. It’s one of my favorite on-air traditions.

My Longtime Favorite… and a New Challenger

For years, my ride-or-die Girl Scout cookie was Thanks-A-Lot. Sadly, those were discontinued a couple of years ago, and I’m still holding out hope for a comeback. That said, I think I may have found a new favorite in 2026.

Meet Exploremores,  a brand-new cookie inspired by Rocky Road ice cream. These are packed with marshmallow flavor, toasted almond cream, and chocolatey goodness. I’ll be honest… this is a cookie I can enjoy in the morning with coffee and again in the evening with a hot cup of tea. That’s saying something.

I Don’t Buy Boxes, I Buy Cases

When Girl Scouts knock on my door, I always say the same thing:
“I don’t buy boxes of cookies.”

The look of disappointment is immediate until I finish the sentence.

“I buy them by the case.”

That’s not a joke. Whether it’s door-to-door sales, booth sales, or surprise encounters (yes, this includes getting ambushed outside Sam’s Club), I make it a point to support the Girl Scouts of the USA every chance I get. My wife is a loyal fan of Peanut Butter Patties, and we usually invest in at least one or two cases every season.
