Unfortunately, there are three cities in Texas that are among the worst for having an active lifestyle according to a study done by WalletHub. According to their research, the cities in Texas that rank among the worst are:

• Garland, TX (94 out of 100)
• Corpus Christi, TX (97 out of 100)
• Irving, TX (99 out of 100)

Being "Active" Isn't Hard Anymore In 2025

I remember a time when being "active" seemed tough. Gym memberships were out of the question in the small town I grew up in. There weren't trails to hike. It wasn't like it is now.

Now, there are all kinds of stores that cater to living an active lifestyle. You can get supplements and powders to help you get fit. You can find a gym that fits exactly what you want. No longer is the only option a giant room that smells like warm onions filled with weights. Yoga is no longer something that is a punchline. It's something we all do.

The fact that Corpus Christi is ranked 97 blows my mind. I would assume a place like Corpus would be a shoo-in for living a healthy lifestyle. You've got the beach. What else do you need to encourage you to get outside and engage in some kind of physical activity?
