The Longest Flight That Leaves From Texas
When you want to get away from it all and get as far away from Texas as possible, get to Dallas. When you get to DFW, you might notice that some of the longest nonstop flights in the world are at your fingertips.
You could drive from Dallas to Vegas or Miami before you land at this super far-flung destination. The 8,992-mile flight from DFW to Melbourne, Australia on Qantas clocks in at an astounding 17 hours and 45 minutes.
Since this flight is over 12 hours it qualifies as an "ultra long-haul" according to the Independent. This is the 4th longest haul in the world for now.

According to Aerotime, American Airlines is also traveling down under starting in October 2024. They will be flying from Dallas to Brisbane, Australia and it will be the longest nonstop flight that the company offers.
This flight is 17 hours and 7,200 miles. You may not even know what day it is when you get off the airplane, since the seasons are completely reversed in Australia.
When it's summer here, it's winter in Australia. June, July, and August are their three coldest months. This is the flight to catch if you want to you want to escape the heat.
Could You Survive 17 Hours In Economy Seats?
After about 10 hours, I would have to start doing laps around the airplane. Sitting still this long in an uncomfortable economy seat might cause you to have sciatic nerve damage.
