Look: Enormous Tornado Touches Down in Jefferson, Texas

Are there any natural disasters that are more frightening than a tornado? I'll wait. Hurricanes? No, you get weeks of warning to get yourself somewhere safe. Earthquake? Just go outside and make sure you don't stand underneath anything, and you'll be fine. Heck, the trembling might even feel good.

Tornadoes are a whole other animal. They pop up out of nowhere, usually when it's too dark outside to even see them, and you are not safe indoors or out if one comes across your path. The tornado that touched down recently in Jefferson, Texas, is a great example of how terrifying these suckes are. Powerful tornado rips through Jefferson, Texas

The lady who posted the video below says that the tornado touched down in Jefferson very close to where she works, but that she had already left for the day. Jefferson is located on the eastern border of the state just west of Shreveport, Lousiana.

Experts say that to survive a tornado, seek shelter in a sturdy building's interior room or basement, away from windows, and protect your head and neck. If outside, find a ditch or ravine, or if in a vehicle, stay inside and cover your head.
