
Wichita Falls Firefighters Tackle Early-Morning Blaze Behind Auto Shop
Early Wednesday morning, Wichita Falls firefighters rushed to a fire near the 400 block of Scott Street. When they got there around 4 a.m., they found heavy flames coming from a small building in an alley behind the main address.

The structure that caught fire was the back part of Ward’s Automotive on Indiana Avenue. Fire crews worked to control the flames, dealing with thick smoke and the heat from the fire.

Right now, officials don’t know what caused the fire, but they’re still investigating. One firefighter had to be treated on the scene for heat exhaustion but was released soon after.
Even with the tough conditions, the Wichita Falls Fire Department says they were able to keep the fire from spreading to nearby buildings. The investigation is still underway.
