These 2 Texas Donut Shops Just Made Yelp’s Best-in-America List

Let's discuss two of my favorite things: donuts and Texas. According to Yelp, you'll find some of the best donuts right here in the Lone Star State.

I don’t believe I’ve ever had a donut I didn’t like. Sure, I like some more than others, but I’m not one to turn down a donut. In fact, I probably like them a little too much (see waistline). 

I’m one of those folks who live to try new eating places. I like to joke about how my never-ending restaurant bucket list just keeps on growing. And it just grew a little more.

First up, we have Golden Crown Cookies & Mochi Donuts in North Richland Hills. I’ll be honest with you – this is the first time I’ve heard of mochi donuts. Thanks to Google, I now know that mochi donuts are a combination of American-style and Japanese mochi donuts (and boy, do they look good).

Next up is Detour Doughnuts and Coffee in Frisco. Yelpers say Detour is the place to go for those who are looking for something other than traditional donuts. Fans of Detour rave about their innovative flavor combos like Ube Oreo, Neapolitan, and Tiramisu.

I’m in Fort Worth quite often, so I’ll probably give Golden Crown a try first, but you can bet that Detour will be on my radar the next time I’m in the Frisco area.
