I grew up here in North Texas, and even I’m taken aback by the number of rattlesnakes that had to be removed from the property while filming Dutton Ranch. I’m not exaggerating when I tell you that it’s enough to make me not want to venture outside the city limits ever again. And that’s coming from someone who was raised in an agricultural setting.

Dutton Ranch stars Cole Hauser and Kelly Riley were guests on a recent episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show when they made the revelation, as reported by WFAA. Snake handlers on the set had to remove 3,400 rattlesnakes from the property over the course of eight months, according to Hauser.

Once during filming, Hauser showed up on set to shoot a scene only to find out that a den of about forty or fifty rattlesnakes had been discovered, which led to filming being called off for the night so the snake handlers could move them all far away from the set.

Where Was ‘Dutton’ Ranch Filmed?

While the series was filmed in multiple spots across North Texas, the bulk of the filming took place in the city of Ferris, which is just south of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This means you’re probably not going to catch this old boy anywhere near Ferris any time soon.
