(KTYL-FM) - They are undoubtedly one of the strangest-looking vehicles on the road - in my opinion.

I have yet to see what the interior of one of the Tesla Cybertruck looks like much less how it could actually be considered a truck. Its foreign-looking futuristic design does not look like it could haul anything. Granted I haven't taken the time to stop by the Tesla dealership on Tyler's Loop 323 to take an in-depth look, turns out it may be a good thing that I haven't done that.

U.S. safety regulators issue a recall on virtually all Cybertrucks on the road today

The Cybertruck has been on the market and available for purchase now for just over a year. Within that year the company has already issued eight recall alerts for the truck.

The latest issue covers the 46,000 Cybertrucks that are on the road today. There seems to be an issue with the gluing agent used on the stainless steel exterior panels that run along each side of the windshield.

This stainless steel exterior panel could come loose while driving and pose a road hazard to other vehicles and drivers and could increase the risk of an accident.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recall affects the 2024 and 2025 Cybertruck year models manufactured from November 13, 2023 through February 27, 2025. The parts in question have been under investigation since January 2025 from complaints from the field, customers and comments on social media.

Tesla will begin the process of notifying customers

Tesla has plans to inform Cybertruck owners of the recall via mail beginning May 19th. The affected parts will be covered by the company and replaced at no charge to the customer.

Other issues that have affected this line of vehicles include:

  • fault in the electric inverter that could cause the drive wheels to lose power
  • fix acceleration pedals that can get stuck on interior trim
  • windshield wiper not functioning properly
  • display screen on the dashboard

If you own a Tesla Cybertruck, you can contact your dealer for more details on the recall or call their customer service line at 877.798.3752.
