Using illegal drugs in the state of Texas is never a good idea.

Not only are they simply against the law, they also pose a lot risks towards your own personal health as well. Data shows from the year of 2020 in Texas, 88,651 arrests were made in regards to drug abuse. While the number did decrease from 2019, drugs still remain an issue.

One of the biggest drugs that many are warned about here in Texas is Fentanyl. But it is one of many that the Lone Star State has to contend with individuals using. Others, like Cocaine and LSD are examples.

Per Newsweek, data shows that the state of Texas was ranked highly for meth usage. According to the data, 197,000 meth users exist in the Lone Star State. Newsweek spoke to a researcher of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Bryce Pardo, who revealed why the drug is so rampant:

In terms of demand, methamphetamine use has been increasing in recent years in the US...The reasons for this are not entirely clear, but drivers include increasing availability and lower prices of the drug."

Overall, this put Texas at number two in the nation for users of Methamphetamine. First in the nation was California, with a staggering 418,000. Be smart and safe Texas!
