Jon Hamm Slams Justin Bieber in Men’s Fitness Cover Story
It's Drapes vs. Biebs!
Jon Hamm, who plays Don Draper on 'Mad Men,' had some choice words for Justin Bieber in his new Men's Fitness cover story, which is the mag's May 2014 issue.
Joining the ranks of other celeb Bieber critics like Olivia Wilde, Drake Bell and Seth Rogen, Hamm wasn't mincing words or biting his tongue when he spoke out about how the singer, 20, is left to run amok and cause trouble. He said, "Look at Bieber or whoever. You're like, 'What the f---, man? What are you doing? Why?' There's no one telling those people no, and it's a shame."
Hamm, 43, wasn't just blithely trashing Bieber or using him for verbal target practice. It was almost a backhand way of offering advice on how the world works, and how to present yourself, and suggesting that young famous people need to have "bad cops" around them, ones who have the audacity to actually say "no."
"[He should have] a mom or a dad or a really good friend who can say, 'Hey, s--thead!,'" Hamm said.
The actor furthered, "You see people in the world and you're like, 'Do you know how a washing machine works? Do you know how to wash a dish?' Life skills are something we’re missing… just s--t you needed to learn in life. There used to be a class that kids had to take in high school called home economics, which was cooking and sewing and just s--t you needed to learn in life."
It sounds like Hamm was making an indictment on how some of young Hollywood's major players just go through life surrounded by "Yes!" men who give them what they want and don't police their behavior.
It's worth noting that The Biebs is very hands on with his fans and he does spent lots of time with sick kids and supporting Pencils of Promise. So he isn't just getting arrested in Miami and behaving like a brat all the live long day.
