Considering most of what we’ve heard from Lil Wayne lately has been about pulling out of concerts, creating bizarre dance moves and dealing with perceived prejudices at basketball games, it’s easy to forget he’s a pretty prolific MC. He’s reminding the world of that fact on his new album ‘I Am Not a Human Being II,’ though it’s certainly taking him long enough.

Weezy talked to MTV about his highly anticipated followup to his last No. 1. “‘I Am Not A Human Being II’, that’s what I’m workin’ on right now, actually I’m finished,” the ‘How to Love’ rapper said. “The difference between [this] album and the last I Am Not a Human Being would be the music wasn’t rushed.”

True, but he’s also not in a hurry to release the sequel before he heads to Rikers this time, something he readily acknowledges. “Last time the music was rushed because I had to take that eight-month vacation on that island so we had rushed the music, but this time we didn’t rush the music.” Gotta love his candor, right?

Wayne was in no rush to make his music, and he’s similarly in no rush to release it, either. “I paid attention to everything I did,” Tunechi said. “You’re getting the quality of all my albums: ‘Tha Carter IV’, ‘Tha Carter III’, the same with this ‘I Am Not A Human Being II’. Hope you like it.”
