Maggie Lindemann has revealed that she was arrested mid-way through her June 21 concert set in Malaysia.

The pop artist shared the scary experience in a statement posted to her social media on July 3. She began the letter by first apologizing to fans that came out to her Malaysia show for not being able to finish the concert, explaining that she could not go into the reasons she was detained.

She recounted that she spent five days "confined in a living hell" in a Malaysian jail cell, and that she was unable to finish her Asia tour because of the arrest.

"I was so excited to see and meet all of you but unfortunately I was unable to finish the tour. I have been advised not to say more at this time, but thank you for the kind words and concern," Lindemann wrote. "I love you and I hope to be back soon."

Recent collaborator Machine Gun Kelly commented sad face emojis on her Instagram post, while friend and fellow artist Olivia O'Brien left words of support.

There are currently no re-scheduled tour dates for Lindemann's Asia tour. See her statement in full, below.
