Nicki Minaj Changes Twitter Name to ‘Mrs. Petty’ Amid Marriage Rumors
Is Nicki Minaj married? The rapper continued to fuel marriage rumors after officially changing her Twitter name to "Mrs. Petty," which is her boyfriend Kenneth Petty's last name.
On Friday (August 16), the "Anaconda" hitmaker's followers were surprised to see tweets that didn't feature her usual social media display name, "Ms. Minaj." The change sparked wedding rumors once again, especially after she confirmed she did have plans to marry her man in the next "80 days" since their last attempt to make things official failed.
"We filed for the marriage license and we still had to pick it up and I was traveling, by the time I came back, we had to renew it again,” Minaj said during her Queen Radio podcast last week. "From that time, you have 90 days to get married. That was about a week ago, so now I have about 80 days."
“I have to work on my album and I have a lot to focus on that I don’t want to do the big wedding now. We’ll do the big wedding later,” the 36-year-old continued. “I’ll be married before my album comes out, but will have my wedding after the album comes out. Before the 90 days is over, yes, I will be married.”
“I’m very happy about that because my baby makes me so happy,” Minaj added.
As previously reported, she and Petty were spotted at a Beverly Hills courthouse in July, where witnesses saw them waiting in a line marked "marriage licenses and ceremony appts. ONLY."
