Each time we get closer to a presidential election, it seems the political landscape gets weirder and weirder. Now, thanks to comedian Roseanne Bar entering the race, the trend remains consistent.

Over the weekend, Barr won the presidential nomination of the Peace and Freedom Party in Los Angeles precisely one year after announcing her proposal to take over the Oval Office on ‘The Tonight Show.’

Barr, who has chosen the infamous George Bush Texas Ranch protestor Cindy Sheehan as her vice presidential running mate, had pursued the Green Party presidential nomination in the beginning, but lost out to Dr. Jill Stein last month.

“Cindy and I are the ‘Throw the Bums Out’ ticket and the ‘Ballot Access’ ticket. The American people are sick and tired of this ‘lesser evil’ garbage they get fed every election year,” said Barr before the party’s convention vote, which was held at the United Methodist Church in Los Angeles. “Both the Democrats and the Republicans do the same evils once they’re in office.”

While Barr will not be present on enough ballots in November to have any kind of chance of “throwing the bums out” of the White House, the secondary goal of her high-profile campaign is to drive voter registration to help increase the party’s presence in future elections.

“I’m here to tell the voters: if you want to tell the government and the two domineering parties that you’re sick and tired of all their evil, register in the Peace and Freedom Party and vote for me and Cindy.”

In true form of the political maniac, Barr’s first stop on the fall campaign trail will be a Comedy Central roast in her honor airing on August 12th. We expect much political incorrectness to ensue.
