Earlier this week, ‘Dark Knight Rises‘ fans took a few critics to task for their negative reviews and by that we mean “issued death treats.” Threats of violence against a movie critic for a negative review is a little extreme, but when director Christopher Nolan was asked his opinion at the ‘Dark Knight Rises’ London premiere, he didn’t condemn that Batfans, he actually defended them.
Everywhere they go, members of the original ‘Ghostbusters’ cast will be asked about the rumored third movie up until that movie’s actually playing on a screen somewhere. And every once in a while, one of those cast members will cough up a nugget of somewhat-significant news … like the fact that new writers are tackling the screenplay.
Male strippers, heartwarming family fare, talking teddy bears and men in drag. No, that’s not the set-up for a joke — those are what you’ll see in the four new movies that hit theaters this weekend.
Those of us who’ve grown tired of seeing Kristen Stewart‘s mopey mug on the big screen seem to be in the minority. In fact, the 22-year-old star of the ‘Twilight‘ franchise is apparently so popular with the masses that she’s just topped Forbes list of Hollywood’s highest-paid actresses.
Katy Perry has been bitten by the acting bug. The singer, who will release her first concert doc ‘Katy Perry: Part of Me’ (and in 3D!) in July, reportedly covets the role of Freddie Mercury’s girlfriend in the upcoming biopic about the late Queen singer.
Hard to believe you’ll see anything cuter than this today: watch as an 11-year-old Natalie Portman auditions for the role of Mathilda in Luc Besson’s ‘Leon: The Professional.’
‘Jackass 3D’ was (another) huge hit in the franchise, so ‘Jackass 4′ always seemed like something of an inevitability. But part of the fun of ‘Jackass 3D’ was watching the stunts catch up on the aging cast and there was some speculation, they’re retire after completing the trilogy. Not quite. ‘Jackass 4′ looks like it could be on the way after all…
The box office can be a funny thing. Last weekend, ‘Men in Black 3‘ made $55 million and was considered a disappointment. This weekend, ‘Snow White and the Huntsman‘ pulled in $56 million and it’s considered a roaring success. As bizarre as that sounds, it all makes sense when you look at the details.
