One Long Island icon bade farewell to another last night, when Billy Joel closed out Nassau Coliseum with a rollicking set that lasted more than three hours and included special guest Paul Simon.

The couple will not face any punishment for an incident at their home back in April.

Paul Simon and Sting will tour North America together next year. According to The New York Times, the pair will officially announce the shows tomorrow, with, presumably, details of cities and dates.

Congratulations to Paul Simon for nabbing the 2012 Polar Music Prize, which is awarded annually in Sweden to one contemporary artist and to one classical artist. Cellist Yo-Yo Ma grabbed the award on the classical side.
