Texas Hip Hop Star Megan Thee Stallion Wins Four 2021 BET Awards
The 2021 BET Awards went back to a live show setting this year and "Culture's Biggest Night" featured 2 of the culture's biggest stars from Texas taking home trophies.
Texas bred hip hop star Megan Thee Stallion was one the big winners last night taking home 4 BET Awards including "Video Of The Year" & "Best Collaboration" for the controversial smash "WAP" with Cardi B, Viewer's Choice Award, Best Female Hip Hop Artist.
Texas based Gospel icon Kirk Franklin opened up the show with a inspirational performance of "We Win" with hip hop star Lil Baby and he later pick up the Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award for his album "Strong God".
Other big highlights included Cardi B and Offset nearly breaking the internet with their announcement of another baby on the way for the married hip hop couple and Queen Latifah was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for all her amazing work from being the Queen of Hip Hop to becoming one of Hollywood's biggest stars.
Let's not forget about R&B now! Jazmine Sullivan's "Heaux Tales" took home "Album Of The Year" and she also SANG her new single "Tragic" with some help with Ari Lennox and Congresswoman Maxine Waters....yeah just watch the performance.
And of course, Silk Sonic, the super group of Anderson Paak and Bruno Mars performed the defacto biggest song of the year "Leave The Open Open".
