In a new study, the US Department of Health & Human Services and US Department of Agriculture (USDA) have researched what is best to feed babies under the age of two.

Their new report says that what babies eat in their first 1,000 days of life “not only contributes to long-term health but also helps shape taste preferences and food choices.”

The guidelines are broken down into key points

  1. Absolutely no added sugar for babies.
  2. Breast Milk is better
  3. No solid foods before 4 months
  4. Introducing peanut butter and eggs early can help prevent or reduce allergies.
  5. Pay attention to vitamin-d and their iron and zinc
  6. What you eat during pregnancy and conception do matter.
