Daylight Savings Time ends on the first Sunday of November and this year it just so happens to be on November 1st.

Now what this means is we are essentially adding an hour of daylight to the morning while taking it away from the evening. A tactic that many people are not fond of, as they would prefer it to be lighter later.

According to Wikipedia, daylight savings time is both praised and heavily contested.

Retailing, sports, and tourism interests have typically been in favor of it.

But agricultural and evening entertainment interests have opposed it.

The main argument for Daylight Savings time is it promotes saving energy, with less electricity needed when it's sunny out. It promotes outdoor leisure activity in the evening, and is good for mental health.

Opponents argue that it disrupts human circadian rhythms, making us stay awake longer thus getting less sleep. Farmers have been known to oppose this since their days usually begin so early in the morning.

Florida, Oregon, California, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island have all proposed bills to make their states in summer hours year round. While Hawaii and Arizona are the two U.S. states that don't observe daylight saving time at all.

I personally like it lighter later, but I understand why a lot of people prefer lighter earlier.
