Chorus Abilene Launches a Big Season of Music, Community and Love
I’ve been a longtime fan and supporter of Chorus Abilene, and I can honestly say they’re more than just a choir; they’re a family. From children to senior citizens, people across our community come together to sing, celebrate, and bring Abilene to life through music. Their new season is underway, and it’s shaping up to be one of their most exciting yet.
A Strong Start to the Season
This season began with a big turnout at auditions, proving once again that Abilene is full of talented voices ready to share their gift. Chorus Abilene also hosted their annual potluck, and if you know anything about this group, you know it’s never just about music; it’s about fellowship, food, and family. When they gather, the spirit of community fills the room.
Now rehearsals are rolling, and the excitement is already building. Chorus Abilene isn’t just preparing to perform songs; they’re preparing to move hearts.
First Concert Coming October 18
Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 18th, at 7:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Abilene. That’s when the first big concert of the season takes place. Tickets will be available soon at chorusabilene.org. If you’ve never been to one of their performances, you’re missing out on something truly special.
A Carnegie Hall Invitation
This season brings another major milestone. Chorus Abilene’s own Dr. Dee Romines has been invited to conduct at the legendary Carnegie Hall in New York City in April 2026. It’s one of the most prestigious stages in the world, where music legends like Tchaikovsky, Billie Holiday, and even The Beatles once performed.
Here’s the kicker: you can join them. Registration is open through September 26th if you want to take the stage and sing. It’s not just a trip, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Why Chorus Abilene Matters
At a time when the world often feels divided, Chorus Abilene reminds us what happens when voices come together in harmony. It’s not just music, it’s unity, empathy, and community. That’s why I’ll be supporting them this season, and I hope you will too. The video below shows the unity of their voices that brings hope to our community.
