Better Sleep

Sleep problems stink, I know. Medical marijuana helps some people sleep better by relaxing their bodies and minds. It's important to talk to a doctor before using for sleep.

Calming Anxiety

Feeling anxious or worried is no bueno. Medical marijuana is said to produce a calming effect on some folks, helping them feel more at ease. Too much, however, can aggravate anxiety and cause paranoia, so it's important to follow a doctor's advice.

Seizure Control

For some Texans with epilepsy, regular medicines don't work well. Medical marijuana, especially the compound CBD, has been shown to help in reducing seizures.

Not so fast though. There are important things to think about. Smoking anything, including marijuana, can harm your lungs. Also, medical marijuana isn't a magic cure. Some folks react differently, and it might not work for everyone.

Here in Texas, there are laws about who can use medical marijuana and how. You need to have a qualifying medical condition and get a recommendation from a doctor. Your doctor can help decide if it's a good option for you.

For now, recreational marijuana use is still illegal in Texas. However, that's not the case for many other states. Scroll below for a peek at which ones have given the green light to grass.
