What began in 2009 as a small operation out of a camper trailer parked on I-35, Franklin Barbecue in Austin was just crowned as the best BBQ joint in Texas by Southern Living's "The South's Best Barbecue Joint in Every State 2025" list.

It's the restaurant's 4th year in a row to win the esteemed title.

It's clear people love Frankin Barbeque. Customers get in line early and don't mind the wait. 9 times out of 10, you'll see tons of people waiting for the restaurant to open with their hearts set on some delicious barbeque.

Here's what Southern Living had to say about the famed BBQ restaurant:

"In 2009, Aaron Franklin helped launch the craft barbecue movement from a small Aristocrat Lo-Liner camper trailer parked near I-35 in downtown Austin. Flawless prime-grade brisket, tender pork ribs, and snappy jalapeño cheddar sausage—plus a dose of nascent social media—rocketed him to Internet celebrity. Franklin Barbecue moved into its current blue and white building on East 11th Street in 2011, and barbecue fans from around the globe have been lining up for hours to experience it."

Have you been to Frankin BBQ? I've never had time to wait in line for it when I visit Austin. How does it compare to some of the local favorites here in Lubbock? I'd love to hear from you!
