Dairy Queen’s Festive Blizzards are Back for the Holiday Season
A blizzard is coming to Amarillo. Get ready for an unmistakably delicious treat as the Texas Stop Sign releases its holiday Blizzards.
That's right. Dairy Queen (DQ) is releasing its holiday flavors, and this is my favorite time of year.
When I was 8 months pregnant with my son, my pulse hit about 219. I felt off, short of breath, and exhausted. When I called my OB, I was told, "Do not pass go. Go directly to the ER." They were in the process of putting the pads on me. Luckily, a dose of whatever they gave me knocked my heart rate back down to normal before they screamed clear and shocked the heck out of me and almost toasted my baby.
Then I spent 3 days in the hospital, one of those days was my baby shower, so that got cancelled.
My Holiday Dairy Queen Blizzard Memory
You may be asking yourself why I'm sharing this story. Well, when I finally got to leave the hospital, and my baby was just fine, I was starving because hospital food is barely edible. We passed DQ, and I saw "Try the new Peppermint Blizzard" on the sign. We pulled in, and I got the greatest Blizzard ever. I went home, sat down on the couch, and cried while eating my Peppermint Blizzard. I wanted my baby shower, and I was tired.
To this day, when I see Peppermint and Blizzard in the same sentence, I find myself pulling into DQ and ordering one to reminisce that my son and I survived that crazy weekend in the hospital because of my heart.
Dairy Queen has just released their holiday Blizzards, and thank goodness they have released the Peppermint Bark Blizzard.
What’s in the Peppermint Bark Blizzard
This new Blizzard has white and milk chocolate layers with peppermint candy cane pieces blended together with the famous DQ soft serve. It will make you want one each day. I know I'll be grabbing one this afternoon.
Frosted Sugar Cookie Blizzard: Taste Notes
They are also bringing back the Frosted Sugar Cookie Blizzard. Enjoy sugar cookies blended in DQ's soft serve with icing and sprinkles.
Celebrate the holidays with a sweet treat. Keep in mind, ice cream is better when it's cold outside. Get by your favorite DQ today.
