Three Local Organizations Are Changing the Future for El Paso Girls
Growing up, I wish I had known about more opportunities that could have helped me build my confidence, find my voice and recognize my potential as a leader because fun fact: I was SUPER shy when I was younger! Now, good luck getting me to stop talking!
Sometimes, young girls just need someone to believe in them, offer guidance and remind them that they don't have to wait until they're older to make a difference and that’s why I was excited when I found out about The Collab: La Nube x Mija, Yes You Can, a new leadership program bringing together three powerful local non-profit organizations to empower high school-aged girls in El Paso.
The program is open to all high school-aged girls, with only 30 spots available. Interested students are encouraged to apply before capacity is reached.

Helping the Next Generation of Girls Find Their Voice
Today's young women face plenty of pressure, and having a supportive environment where they can learn, grow and connect with others can make a lasting difference! That’s exactly what participants will experience through this new program.
Through four interactive sessions, participants will learn how to communicate with confidence, navigate conflict, lead with their values and work as a team to create a real community project.

The program is spread across four different sessions which will take place on Saturday morning from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at La Nube.
- November 14th
- November 21st
- December 5th
- December 12th

Registration is $25 for all four sessions, lunch will be provided, and participants can receive free clothing from the Mija Professional Closet on the final day. Participants will also earn the Purpose Every Day Community Leader Microcredential, endorsed by the GECU Foundation.
So, if you’re a parent to a young girl who could really take advantage of this opportunity then make sure they sign up before all spots are taken!
