According to multiple news sources Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has made the decision to no longer have the National Anthem as part of pre-game activities.

According to TMZ Mark Cuban told the New York Times that he actually made this decision back in November.  Apparently this is not something new or something that just started happening. The Mavericks have not played the anthem in any of their 13 preseason or regular games so far. The Pelicans may follow suit.

Some might view this act as unpatriotic or un American but this apparently is Mark Cuban's way of staying out of conflict. If thinks if he avoids the situation all together than their won't be an issue.

Per TMZ:

I personally don't agree. Like the Aaron Tippin song says, "you've got to stand for something or you will fall for anything." As Americans we should be proud every time the anthem is played. We should stand and salute or put our hands over our hearts. People are forgetting the sacrifices that the people before for us gave and the battles they fought for us to be able to live the way we do.    Just my two cents.

Will you be attending any Mavericks games this year. Are you still going to support the team? I know there are quite a few Mavs fans out there.

BTW this is the face Mark Cuban will be making when Texans stop buying tickets to his games.

Just ask the NFL and Jerry Jones how many people kept their seasons tickets after the NFL took the stance they took.
