Not Again! Icy Weather Could Be Back This Winter in Texas
Well, it's hot right now, but we could see the opposite of what we're seeing now when it's comes to Texas weather this winter.
We all remember "Snowmageddon" six months ago. The Farmers' Almanac actually forecasted the bad weather.
The Farmers' Almanac previously predicted Texas’ winter storm Uri in which heavy snowfall, ice storms and bitter temperatures brought an enormous strain on the state’s power grid, leaving millions without electricity.
And now the Almanac is predicting we could have a repeat of the weather we saw last winter.
The Almanac, which has been predicting the weather outlook for farmers and gardeners for over 200 years, says to expect a “frosty flip-flop winter” for the United States. For most of the country, there will be near-normal amounts of snow with some notable month-to-month variations, the Alamanc says.
In late January, Texas and Oklahoma may be in for icy weather “like you experienced last winter,” according to the Almanac’s report.
No, not again! Like the late great Yogi Berra said it could be "Deja vu all over again". I probably speak for all Texans when I say, "hey ERCOT, have you seen this?"
The Electric Reliability Council of Texas has gone through some major changes by the Texas Legislature since this past winter's problems with the power grid in the state of Texas. The Almanac says it "doesn’t hurt to be prepared,” so I hope they can keep the power on this time around.
So, there you have it. It could be another harsh weather, but hopefully ERCOT will be better prepared. I do wonder if Ted Cruz is already booking his Cancun flight for this winter, though.
So, tell us what you think of another frigid winter coming back to Texas. Will you be ready? Do you think ERCOT will be ready? Give us your thoughts and opinion on Facebook or on our station app.
