Police Make Arrest in Connection With Deadly Shooting at a Lubbock Walmart

The Lubbock Police Department has released the identity of the person killed in Friday's shooting. Forty-two-year-old Roel Munoz was killed inside the Walmart at 702 West Loop 289.
Also happening Saturday morning, the accused shooter, Kaleb Anthony Vasquez, was arraigned on a murder charge. His bond was set at $500,000, according to LPD.
Original story: Friday night, Lubbock Police made an arrest in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred Friday afternoon (December 4th) just before 4 p.m.
Twenty-year-old Kaleb Anthony Vasquez of Great Bend, Kansas, was arrested Friday night at the Stripes in the 1800 block of Avenue A. Lubbock Police have charged Vasquez with murder in connection with a shooting death that occurred hours earlier at the Walmart in northwest Lubbock at 4th Street and Frankford Avenue.
Vasquez has also been charged with a felony count of robbery and accused of attempting a carjacking in the aftermath of the shooting.
As of 8 a.m. Saturday morning, Vasquez remains in custody at the Lubbock County Detention Center and he has not yet been arraigned on the murder and robbery charges. Additional charges may be pending against him.
The identity of the person killed in the shooting has not been released.
Lubbock police are continuing their investigation of this shooting.
