San Angelo Mayor Declares Public Health Emergency
In an effort to help prevent a coronavirus outbreak in San Angelo, Mayor Gunter has declared a public health emergency while banning groups/gatherings of 50 people or more. The ban is set for public and private gatherings.
While we currently have zero reported cases of COVID-19, we want to ensure that we’re taking measures to prevent any spread of the disease should a positive case arise. In order to accomplish this, I am declaring a public health emergency in the City of San Angelo. [Press Release]
It is strongly advised that San Angelo area citizens stay home as much as possible and always practice good hygiene, like washing your hands, using sanitizer, and avoiding touching your face.
City management also encourages citizens not to “shop the grocery stores like the apocalypse is upon us. Buy only what you need and be considerate of your neighbors.”
