Something caught my eye the other day as I was driving down Knickerbocker Road in San Angelo. It appears as if we are getting a new smoothie place here.

The sign above in this post shows a banner for a new Smoothie King where the former Korona's Formal Wear used to be on Knickerbocker. Korona's closed their business last year and it looks like the Smoothie King will be the new occupant in the vacant building.

I'm not sure when the new Smoothie King will open. I guess it depends on the definition of "blending soon". According to Smoothie King's Wikipedia page, there are over 1000 Smoothie King locations. The company is based in Dallas, Texas.

A quick check of the Smoothie King web site shows the current nearest locations to San Angelo are in Midland and Abilene. Both locations get 4/5-star ratings online. So, they have that going for them.

The web site says the first Smoothie King franchise was first opened in 1989 in New Orleans, Louisiana. So perhaps we will get some Cajun flavored smoothies?

I have personally never been to a Smoothie King. So, I do not have any experiences going to one. Has anybody out there ever been to one? Is this a good place to have in San Angelo?
