San Angelo’s Youth Fishing Derby is Sat, June 4th
Get ready for some fishing fun as The City of San Angelo's Recreation Division and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department present their Annual Youth Fishing Derby this Sat, June 4th!
This is always a great outing for family time and for kids to enjoy the experience of catching fish. It's surprising how many kids have never been fishing in their lives!
This is a free event to all participants but if you are going to fish, you must supply your own fishing pole and bait. Registration starts at 7 am and the event runs from 7-10 am.
The fishing derby is being held at Celebration Bridge located at 16 East Avenue A offering free fishing downtown along the Concho River.
There are three age groups which are 1-6, 7-12 and 13-17 years of age. Trophies will be awarded for the largest fish caught and for the most fish caught in each of the age divisions.
Fishing is one of the least expensive and entertaining things that you can do and have a great time. Of course serious anglers can spend a lot of money on boats, trailers, expensive fishing reels, tackle, depth finders and on and on. I'm just talking about fishing off the bank, a bridge or perhaps a fishing pier and enjoying nature and the excitement of catching fish!!
I encourage families and friends to get together, load up and head for Celebration Bridge this Saturday, June 4th.
Get there early to enjoy free donuts and juice which will be available while supplies last. For more information call 325-657-4450.
