SAPD Investigates Fatal Accident

On Sunday, 10/6/13 at approximately 0330hrs, Officers responded to a single vehicle accident at intersection of 14^th & Northgate. Upon arriving the officers located a blue Dodge charger crashed into a tree. The vehicle appeared to have spun around prior to leaving the road and then colliding with a tree.
Officers located an unconscious female sitting in the driver’s seat. She was identified as Sandra Bocanegra . Paramedics arrived and attempted to revive Bocanegra but they were unsuccessful. Officers on scene then requested for an SAPD motors investigation unit & CSI to respond. The on call Justice of the Peace was also notified. Hit & Run Investigator Steven Quade conducted the investigation.

The investigation at this time has revealed that speeding was a contributing factor. JP Eddie Howard pronounced Bocanegra deceased at the scene. Bocanegra was transported to Johnson’s Funeral Home pending funeral arrangements.
