Using National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administrative Data, it is possible to do a ranking of Texas cities based on annual average particulate matter concentrations (in micrograms per cubic meter). Doing so reveals that many West Texas cities are represented on the list.
Enter Texas Senate Bill 1665. Under current Texas law, cities can reduce speed limits in residential areas to 25 miles an hour, but only after engaging in costly and time-intensive traffic studies. This new bill would let cities bypass these requirements.
According to the US Copyright Office, no one owns the copyright on the slogan: "Cowboy Capital of the World." In fact, Bandera isn't even the only city that uses that phrase. Their emblem is service marked with that phrase on it, but as far as our research could find, the slogan itself is fair game.
