Taylor Swift’s Label Says Album Release Date Not Correlated to Kanye West’s Mom’s Death Anniversary
It's no surprise that Kanye West and Taylor Swift have bad blood between them—but is it so much so that the pop star would time her album release on one of the most traumatic days ever for the rapper?
Since announcing that the release date for her upcoming sixth studio album, Reputation, would be November 10, many across social media pointed out that the date coincides with the ten year anniversary of West's mother's death.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Swift's label, Big Machine, vehemently denied the allegations that the timing was deliberate.
"It is standard practice that releases come out on Fridays and we locked in this release date based on other Universal Music Group releases," a spokesperson released in a statement. "There is no correlation."
On November 10, 2007, Donda West passed away due to heart complications following a routine cosmetic surgery procedure.
