‘Teen Mom’ Amber Portwood Supposedly Being Released From Jail Four Years Early
Amber Portwood of 'Teen Mom' and '16 and Pregnant' renown was sentenced to spend five years in jail, but according to a recent Twitter post from her brother, she could be released much much earlier than expected.
Portwood was sentenced for a December 2011 drug charge and rather than completing a court ordered rehab program a la Lindsay Lohan, Amber chose to do five years of jail time. She started her term in Indiana's Rockville Correctional Facility in June 2012.
However, her brother Shawn revealed on Twitter that she would be released without even serving half of her term:
Shawn said he doesn't know exactly when his sister would get her release, but teased to a follower that it would be soon.
Portwood, now 23, has experienced trouble in the years since appearing on the MTV reality show, including suicide attempts, domestic violence charges and losing custody of her 4-year-old daughter, Leah. Hopefully her jail time has matured her.
