I Think San Angelo Is A Wonderful City For Christmas Spirit
I have lived in a number of Texas cities and towns as I grew up, then traveling a bit in the Navy, and my radio career has taken me to a number of cities across the State. Looking back over the years, none of those places compare to the Christmas Spirit San Angelo enjoys in so many ways.
Before moving to San Angelo twelve years ago, I used to come out and enjoy Christmas visits with my sister who had already lived here for a number of years. I always looked forward to taking the two and a half mile drive through the "Tour of Christmas Lights" along the Concho River which gets bigger and better every year. Do you know they now have over three million lights in various displays? It's awesome!!
There are so many other Christmas Celebrations to enjoy in San Angelo as well. I love the Lighting of the Christmas Tree & The Christmas Parade when the pandemic doesn't interfere, and the way Historic Downtown San Angelo displays so many beautiful lights throughout the area.
It's fun to take in all of the Christmas shopping opportunities Downtown, at the Coliseum, and numerous other shopping opportunities especially if you're looking for unique gift ideas because we have so many talented artisans who make San Angelo home. We have a lot of art galleries here as well.
We have some wonderful Christmas productions like the Nutcracker & Symphony performances.
I love strolling through "Christmas at Ole' Fort Concho"...seeing all the people dressed in period, the military reenactments & displays, camp fires, lots of shopping and much more!
These are just some of the many ways that San Angelo celebrates the Christmas Holidays and I feel blessed to live here and and be a part of it all. Never take it for granted and get out and enjoy Christmas in San Angelo! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
