Long Nails and Polish Not Just for Ladies In San Angelo

Long nails and polish used to be something usually only seen on women.  However as gender roles evolve, more and more men are getting in on the trend.  Yesterday, while in the self-checkout line at Walmart, yes, now there's even a line for the self-checkouts, I saw a guy who was sporting long nails and a bold blue polish. I must admit, it looked good.

It is certainly a fashion trend we've seen in  famous male celebrities for quite some time now.  Most notably, Harry Styles has popularized the trend. Others include:  Chris Hemsworth, Brad Pitt, Keanu Reeves,Jason Momoa, Jared Leto, MaCaulay Culkin, Steven Tyler, and Liam Hemsworth.

Painted nails on men really isn't anything new. The tradition actually started with men.  Egyptian mummies over 5-thousand years old have been discovered with painted nails.  Back in the day, David Bowie and Kurt Cobain wore nail passion as an expression of their position in the "counter-culture".

Machine Gun Kelly has even unveiled UN/DN Laqr his new "genderless nail polish line" which he says is inspired by "self-expression and creativity with out commitment." Some of his shades include "Bad Tendencies" (Blue) "Depressionist" (Black) andk "Nothing (Matte)rs" top coat.

So what are the hot nail polish colors for men in 2022?  Fashion experts say that when you go all in on self-expression you might as well have fun with as many colors as you want, yes simultaneously.  You have ten fingers, why not choose ten colors? Many men go for two tones, and this year the rainbow manicure is becoming more and more popular.

As far as the hot male single colors this year, you can't go wrong with classic red, like Zac Efron.  Pete Davidson is going all in on fire engine red nails. My favorite is the blue shades, including electric blue, though I haven't actually painted my nails yet.  Nude and black are also still in, although past their peak from last year. The French Menicure is also popular, with even Snoop Dogg sporting that look.
